Eric Sogard
Director of Baseball Development
A Czech-American former professional baseball infielder. Eric played in Major League Baseball for the Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, and Chicago Cubs. Sogard attended Arizona State University and played college baseball for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Andy Berglund
Head Coach
Andy Berglund served as lead Major League Baseball European and African Academies Consultant providing on-the-ground assistance to the player academies supported by MLB in Europe and Africa. Berglund is now a professional International scout and the head coach for South Africa.
Les Walrond
Pitching Coordinator
Les played for the Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. In 2012, Walrond became a professional scout for the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Les is currently a Game Day scout and coach, and Team USA scout and coach.
James Bitner
Hitting Coordinator
James played 4 years of college baseball at the junior college and Division 2 at Miles College. In 2022 as a senior, Bitner posted a .341 batting average with 53 RBI and 7 HR. James was honored to be 1 of 29 HBCU baseball players to be named to the Black College Nine’s Elite list.
Ryne Travis
Catching Coordinator
Ryne has over 20 years of baseball experience, playing 5 years at both the junior college and Division 2 levels. Ryne was a college career .300+ hitter. Along with a lifetime .980 fielding percentage as a catcher. He also has 3 seasons of experience coaching at the collegiate level as an assistant coach at Olney Central College, and head coach of the collegiate summer team, the Joliet Dirtbags where he won the 2022 CSBL championship.
